Awning windows can be used alone or positioned above or below a window or door to add ventilation and light to a room. When placed in rows or even against other windows, they can create a "wall of light" effect that adds beauty and functionality to a room. Awning windows have the same frame and sash as a casement window except they are usually wider than they are tall and are hinged on the top and crank open from the bottom towards the outside of the house.

Simulated True Divided Lites:

Simulated True Divided Lites (STDL): grilles attached to the interior and exterior of a window, with a bar between the window panes, to give the appearance of true divided lites.

Another method of increasing thermal performance is by the use of B.F. Rich's polyurethane Enviro-Foam. Enviro-Foam can be injected into the cavities inside a vinyl frame to reduce heat transfer rates and improve condensation resistance.

Faux Meeting Rail:

		Faux Meeting Rail Faux meeting rails transform the appearance of a traditional casement to look like a double hung window. Increased egress, ventilation and energy efficiency make the faux meeting rail casement the perfect choice where the look of a double-hung window is needed.
		Faux meeting rail can also be used with picture windows as pictured on the triple unit on left. The picture windows flankers give the appearance of a double-hung window.
