The patented UNIQUE Heavy-Duty Spiral Balance is a high-quality, spiral balance system which allows the Elite Double-Hung window to achieve easy, smooth operation. The constant force of the spiral balance system, which meets AMMA 902-99 specification, creates even pressure to dramatically reducing the effort or operating force needed to raise and lower the sashes. The spiral balance system will adjust up to 10 pounds for fine tuning and carries over 70 percent of the sash weight. Designed to ensure top performance, the Elite window system has triple insulating glass, double Comfort Ti-AC36 low E glass, argon Sure-Fill gas filling, DuraSeal™ warm edge spacer, Enviro-Foam filled frame and sashes, anti-microbial treated weather-seals and BetterVue screeen. Elite design flexibility includes an internal wood grain option, divided lite choices, and a selection of 3 exterior colors.



Features
Enviro-Foam Filled Sashes and Frame
To increase thermal performance B.F. Rich's Elite Windows have polyurethane Enviro-Foam. Enviro-Foam is injected into the cavities inside the vinyl frame to reduce heat transfer rates and improve condensation resistance

Unlike other foam-filled windows, Elite sash have a capillary tube that is inserted and sealed in the lower sash rails for residual moisture drainage. This innovative design by B.F. Rich prevents residual moisture from being absorbed into the Enviro-Foam so it maintains its insulating properties and provides protection against the formation of mold.

Elite double-Hung windows are tested to a DP-55 Rating. They are all-vinyl maintenance free construction that will never crack, rot, or peel, will never need painting and is easy to clean.

Triple glazed 7/8-inch insulating glass includes two lites of soft coat low E and patented DuraSeal™ warm edge spacer. Sure-Fill argon gas provides optimal insulating value to save you precious heating and cooling dollars. The picture to the left shows the additional tint in the glass from the use of two coats of soft coat low-E to provide maximum glass performance.

The Elite Tilt’N’Slide™ design allows the window to open easily and lock into any position for increased flexibility. Now exterior glass can be cleaned quickly and safely from inside the house. Homeowners can breathe easy with increased ventilation because they can now open their windows all the way. Elite Tilt’N’Slide™ also provides peace of mind in an emergency situation, opening fully to allow fast and easy egress. Not all tilt-in window hardware is created equal. Tilt’N’Slide™ is the safest tilt-in hardware on the market today. Only Tilt’N’Slide™ securely locks the sash to the frame before tilting inward, preventing it from falling and injuring the homeowner and eliminating liability issues for the manufacturer. Other hardware systems only apply brake pressure, increasing the possibility of the sash falling out of the frame before the brakes are fully engaged. Elite Tilt’N’Slide™ features a calliper brake system that clamps the sash like a vice while competitors use an expanding shoe brake system that relies on friction between plastic hardware and a PVC frame. The Elite's Anti-Swing Lock feature is made of high-performance DuPont Delrin allows the sash to be locked into any open position. Elite's Tilt’N’Slide™ also allows for a quick escape in emergency situations, because windows can be opened further and faster than conventional windows.

Simply swing your Tilt'N'Slide™ window into any desired position and extend the anti-swing lever on the swing shoe to lock the position of the sash in the desired position. The use of DuPont™ Delrin® provides superior friction locking instead of common PVC materials, ensuring a positive lock every time.

To close the window, simply depress the lever on the swing shoe. The window is then free to swing closed. Should the window be accidentally forced to close, the swing shoe lever will automatically move into the release position, preventing breakage of the hardware.
